1. In understanding foreign cultures, someone
needs to understand well the cultures to avoid cultural conflicts. But, many
people are failed to understand the values and customs of foreign cultures.
According to your own idea, please explain what do you need to have to
understand foreign cultures in order to avoid cultural conflicts.
·
In my opinion, before visiting or settling in an area that has
never been visited before, the first thing to do is to find as much information
as related to the area, you can use the internet or directly ask other people
who have been there. and when we arrive at the destination we must be able to
maintain our behavior so that there is no conflict
2. How do you define your local cultural is
different from foreign culture? Do youthink local and foreign cultures need to
be integrated? Please provide your reasons
·
in my opinion this is not necessary
because considering that Indonesia with an eastern culture is quite polite
compared to western states such as America, England and so on
3. What is stereotype and prejuice? Does it
exist in your local culture? Give example?
·
from various sources on the internet
that I have read stereotypes are plural judgments of someone based on traits
that exist in their ethnicity, race or religion while prejuice is a negative
attitude or feeling towards a group, ethnicity, race and religion and its
members. And in my culture that is
Batak. Batak people are often mistaken for rude people because the way they
speak uses a loud voice when speaking everyday
