1. Give your own idea/opinions about:
a. Culture :
culture is a way of life that develops and is still preserved by certain people in certain areas as well
b. Interculture:
The first definition is put forward in the book “Intercultural Communication: A Reader” where it is stated that intercultural communication occurs when a message that must be understood is produced by members of a particular culture for the consumption of members of other cultures (Samovar & Porter, 1994, p. 19). Another definition is given by Liliweri that the process of intercultural communication is an interpersonal interaction and interpersonal communication carried out by several people who have different cultural backgrounds (2003, p. 13) Whatever the existing definition of intercultural communication (intercultural communication ) states that intercultural communication occurs when there are 2 (two) different cultures and the two cultures are carrying out the communication process.
c. Cross culture:
Is the intersection of two different cultures.
d. Multiculture:
multiculturalism is an ideology that recognizes and glorifies differences. The differences in question are differences between individuals or cultural differences, such as differences in values, systems, culture, customs, and politics.
2. Give one example of cultural conflict and offer the solution for its adjustment!
example of cultural conflict: in an area there are people who are of different cultures and tribes, for example on one occasion one of the residents who is a Batak tribe will conduct a wedding ceremony which requires using a neighbor's home page for use. So that there are no misunderstandings and quarrels, the solution is to ask the neighbor's permission using polite language
